Unit Evaluation

The proposal I wrote up was for UFEA champions league final in 2013 at Wembley. In my proposal I talk about who I believe will be playing and I try to focus on two players myself and my brother even though none of us play for either side. The image I had in mind was for us two to be stand face to face with the trophy in-between us and our whole team behind us with Wembley in the far distance, but my idea has changed throughout this whole unit and is now very different to the one I had in mind I’ve had to change my idea in different ways the poster with using software like illustrator and Photoshop with these I’ve been able to make my poster look more unique and different from the others.  My original idea was a navy blue background with Wembley faded out and the CL trophy standing just above it with me and brother stand side by side with the text “ get ready for an all out war 28/05/13” this would have been a simple poster and would stand out amongst other posters.

I did my artist copy on Stanley chow he mostly illustrator print arts of people but the football prints he did intrigued me the most. I looked into his work of the football prints and I thought they were brilliant and I tried to make a copy of his works and it was with great succession that I made two one of Eric Cantona and one Lionel Messi the Eric Cantona is very hard to decipher between the real and copy the Lionel Messi is very easy to notice as the hair is out of place. These two copies gave me more ideas into my final piece, which I used, on both characters to give I more of a cartoony look and make both of the people like comic book heroes.

The experiments I did were illustrator and hand drawing with the experiment I tried doing a self-portrait and the hand drawn was footballers. I used footballers that would be have influenced me and I was planning to use the spray but ran out of time as my other two experiments took longer than expected. I’m happy with my both my experiment as they turned out great. I expected my self portrait to look a little out of place but it didn’t and I expected my hand drawn image look a little childish but they didn’t they turned out better than usual.

There is a show of how I fine tune my with the roughs I have made for the final piece which is all hand drawn and done on illustrator. The roughs I made were made one two different day some starting just before the course started and some mid way during the course they all show difference in the posters I used Photoshop and illustrator I used both of these programs because they served the need of the posters I was making. If you look at all the roughs I made on illustrator they all have different characteristics while still keeping some of my original aspects on them.

 The final piece I have created involves a two people and the Champions league trophy while it also shows which two teams will be playing and what two members of the both teams I will be focusing on. Even though the original idea has changed for my proposal and over the time of this course I believe it has changed for the better as I gives more information than the original idea. The main struggle I had  was I going to add more footballers or keep it to two footballers I decided to keep to two as it means there is more focus on each of these two players also I did not add Wembley stadium as that would clutter up  the poster and make it very messy. Both of the players are looking at the trophy as this shows their upmost desire to win this trophy for the first time ever in both of their playing careers.
